The whole shopping process usually takes 3-5 days. If you want to explore China as well, plan for a few extra days.

The closest airport to Foshan is Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

It’s more convenient to book a hotel in the Lecong area
Use apps like these (list apps here) to book your hotel in advance.

Agoda
Known for offering competitive prices and a good selection of hotels in China. It’s also available in English.
Ctrip (Trip.com)

Install a VPN beforehand so you can still access Google and other familiar tools in China.
7,Bring some cash
Have a small amount of Chinese Yuan (RMB) on hand for emergencies.
8,Prepare your deposit for goods
You can bring some USD or RMB for your purchases. If you’re working with a trusted agent, you can also transfer a deposit ahead of time. They can exchange it into RMB for your convenience.
9, Check the weather there and prepare suitable clothing
Check the local temperature in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
When You Arrive at the Airport
After you land at Baiyun Airport, you can share your flight details with your agent in advance. They can arrange a professional pickup service to take you to your hotel.
If you’re handling it yourself, no worries! Long trips can be tiring, especially with luggage, so the easiest option is to take a taxi.
Make sure you have your hotel’s name and address in English. Open the “Transport” section in Alipay app to use a app (like “Didi ” there’s an English version available) to send you to hotel .
The trip from ariport to Lecong is about 60 km, taking around 70 minutes. The cost will be around 160-200 RMB.

Once You’re Settled
You can start planning your market visits and shopping.
Your first stop : can be Louvre Furniture Mall. Think of it as a sightseeing trip! It’s home to many famous furniture brands , expensive for the price !
But don’t worry, you don’t have to buy from there. Because the goal of shopping in China is to get better furniture for less money.

Second Stop: Shunde Lecong North District .Here, you’ll find many beautiful furniture options. The styles are diverse, and the quality is excellent.
Prices are more affordable than at the Louvre Mall, but most sellers here are retailers .
Remember, you get what you pay for. If you have a higher budget and want top-quality products, try negotiating to see if the price works for you.

Third Stop: Shunde Lecong South District
If you’re on a tight budget, this is the place to go. You’ll find all kinds of furniture, and the variety can be overwhelming.
Most sellers here are factories, and prices are lower because middlemen can’t survive here.
However, be cautious about negotiating too low, especially for items like leather sofas. For example, you might ask for genuine leather, but end up with faux leather. Sellers won’t take a loss—they’ll cut costs on materials instead. It’s best to have a trusted agent with you to check the quality and ensure everything is as promised.

Fourth Stop: Visit the Factory
You also can visit the factory directly. But keep in mind, if you go on your own, you’ll only get retail prices.
If you go with an agent, they can help you get a better price—provided they’re reliable.
Small Tip for Your First Day
On day one, take photos and ask for prices. If you plan to return, don’t buy anything yet.
Wait until the next day to order. This way, you’ll avoid impulse buys and also can get the best deal.
If you’re also looking for building materials, lights, ceramics, or bathroom items ship together , Foshan has great markets for that too. I’ll share more in my future posts.
After Placing Your Order
Once you’ve placed your order, let your agent handle the rest. They’ll follow up on the orders, record inspection videos, pay the final balance, and arrange shipping.
Then, you can just relax and wait for your goods to arrive.
So, get prepared and have a trusted agent—your shopping journey will be super easy.
